This simple treatment significantly reduces sweating in various areas of the body and is extremely effective. Results can last up to six months.

Hyperhidrosis treatment in Northampton – What’s the process?

Treatment itself is fairly straightforward and typically includes the following steps.

Initial consultation: We’ll talk about your problem and put together a treatment plan to help. Our skilled team will walk you through the process so you know what to expect.
Preparation: We’ll fully cleanse the area that needs to be treated, and then we’ll apply a topical anaesthetic. This makes the treatment more comfortable.
Treatment: Once you’re comfortable, we’ll begin gently treating the area near the sweat glands with measured amounts of Azzalure. The amounts required will vary from patient to patient, but we’ll work out how much you need and communicate this to you.
You’re good to go: After 10-30 minutes, we should have completed your treatment. We’ll provide you with some aftercare instructions, but other than that, you should be good to continue with your day.

What is it and how does the treatment work?

Although sweating is a completely natural bodily function that controls body temperature, some people find that they sweat more than is needed for temperature regulation.

Hyperhidrosis treatment here at Rowtree Dental offers the ideal solution. When measured amounts of cosmetic fillers are gently administered into the sweat glands, it prevents them from working as hard as they did before.

By temporarily blocking the signals to the nerves that tell the body to commence sweating, the process effectively prevents it from producing so much sweat. The result is a noticeable difference within just a few days.

Do I need to prepare for hyperhidrosis treatment?

All we ask is that you avoid wearing antiperspirant or underarm deodorant before treatment and avoid underarm shaving. Everything will be explained in your initial consultation.

Do I need to take time off after treatment?

Perhaps the best thing about hyperhidrosis treatment here in Northampton is that it involves little to no downtime. Most people can go about their daily lives right after treatment.

Is hyperhidrosis treatment painful?

No. We prepare the area and use topical numbing creams so you should feel very little (if any) discomfort during treatment. Afterwards, you may experience slight sensitivity, but this should subside within a few days.
